Children's Religious Education Curriculum Guide
NUTS AND BOLTS OF OUR SUNDAY MORNING PROGRAM
Attendance
Regular attendance is vital in order for your children to feel part of this religious community and to understand their identity as Unitarian Universalists.
Sunday Morning Procedures
Each Sunday, please check the main entrances for notices about the location of the children's worship. It will be in either the sanctuary or the Stevens Room. If your children attend nursery through grade 1, please pick them up at 11:15. If the class is still in session at 11:15, please wait until class is dismissed. Supervised child care will be provided from 11:30 to 12:30 for programs, forums, and receptions that occur after the service.
Registration
The registration form (available from Director of Religious Education
Sue Fertig) must be completed by all students participating in Sunday
morning Religious Education (nursery through the youth group). This information
is necessary for purposes of insurance, keeping accurate records, communicating
with families, and planning.
Supporting the Program
In order to maintain the high-quality program we so proudly provide
on Sunday mornings, we ask all pledging members and friends to fulfill
their pledge commitment. Non-pledging families are asked to pay a fee
of $50 per child, not to exceed $100 per family, to cover the cost of
materials and refreshments. If you are unable to meet this obligation,
scholarships are available. Please speak with Sue Fertig, Director of
Religious Education, or the Rev. Kathie Davis Thomas.
Supermarket certificates provide an additional way to support us: Buy certificates at the church, use them like cash at your local store; 5% of what you spend goes to FUSP at no charge to you.
THE ROLE OF PARENTS AND OTHER VOLUNTEERS
Our Sunday Morning Program is a cooperative effort. All parents with children or youth in our program are expected to volunteer some time with the Religious Education Program. In addition, we invite all those with special talents, interests, and energies to become part of our program.
