RE CLEANUP DAY
Saturday, August 9, 9:30 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Each year FUSP members spend some time at the end of the summer cleaning and prepping the Stevens Wing, getting it ready for the new school year. Because of the growth of our RE program, we are making a number of changes to the physical setup of our classrooms, and we need lots of help to do that. You can choose to help for all of the time or just a few hours. If you plan to attend the Men's Breakfast, please consider stopping by afterwards to assist.

Sue Fertig will provide a list of chores/tasks for volunteers when they arrive, and a light lunch will be provided. Older youth (11+) are welcome to participate in the cleanup. Please e-mail Rupert Crawford, Kit Marlowe and Martha Haviland if you can help, specify the time you plan to come, and let them know if you need childcare for younger children. Thanks, and see you on Saturday!

RE Announcements
STUDENT REGISTRATION

Please fill out both sides of the 2008-2009 student registration form and return it to the R.E. office as soon as possible. We require that all students, including the nursery children and youth group members have a current registration form on file.

Registration forms will be sent to you in the mail or you can fill one out after church in the Parish Hall. Thank you for your swift and deliberate attention concerning the R.E. registration forms.

RE TEACHER RECRUITMENT UNDERWAY
In order to run FUSP's Religious Education program, we need to staff our classrooms with volunteer teachers. Our goal is to recruit four (4) teachers per class. This allows each of them to teach once a month or to design a schedule that fits their needs. Contact our DRE, Sue Fertig, or the REC Chair, Denise Soppas, about being a teacher in our program. Please consider investing in the future by teaching our children.
LEARNING & ENRICHMENT INFO PUBLICITY

Do you have something related to child, youth or adult RE that you'd like to publicize to the FUSP community? There are a number of communication vehicles available to you for this, including FUSP's website, e-mail distribution list, monthly newsletter and Order of Service announcements. Simply send your information to Becki Douglas and she'll help you get out the word.

3rd & 4th GRADE CLASS SERVICE PROJECT SUPPORTERS
The Grade 3 & 4 Class would like to thank the congregation for supporting its service project. Thanks for helping the class to collect, sort and package up 46 pairs of old, very old and very, very old sneakers for recycling! These will get turned into playground safety material as well as indoor tracks and gymnasiums - many in inner city schools. Five pairs of footwear were not appropriate for this project but they were donated to an elementary school clothing drive instead. Thank you to all for helping our youth better understand the interdependent web of life.
